Poa labillardiierei var. labillardiieriei- Tussock grass

A$15.00

Large ornamental grass of usually moist areas. Indigenous to Australia. Robust plant which will thrive in sull sun or part shade including growing well under Euc trees and either wet or dry conidtions in a variety of soil types. Tolerates frost & cold to about -7c. H: up to 1m W: up to 1m. Plant spacing: 50cm apart for mass plantings. 


Ecological Info

Nesting/hiding place for small birds: finches & food source over winter (seed/insect life). Nesting material for birds. Butterfly attractant. Habitat for lizards

Lomandra longifolia- Matt rush

A$15.00

Very tough native grass. Will grow in almost any climate, soil, location or situation. Useful for erosion control, weed suppressing, mass planting, ground cover feature planting. H: 1.2m. Almost zero maintenance but some native slow release fertiliser once a year will hel it look its best. 


Ecological info

Nesting/hiding place for small birds: finches & food source over winter (seed/insect life). Lizard attractant. Edge of frog bog. Food plant fore cateripillars of several butterflies

Tough densely tufted sedge. Full sun, boggy conditions, fast growing, long-lived, very hardy. May be pruned annually to remove old foliage. Tolerates innundations and periodic dry periods. Flowering season spring to autumn. H: up to 1.2m. Water depth: wetland margins. Plant spacing: 50cm apart. 


Ecological Info
Shallow end planting of frog bog. Provides vital habitat for small animals such as frogs & birds. Useful for poolside plantings.
